Chen Kuang-Yi, Dean of the College of Fine Arts, National Taiwan University of Arts, appointed 11^th Director of NTMoFA. The directorship was handed over from Director Liao Jen-I, in the presence of Minister of Culture, Shih Che.

Organized by the NTMoFA and curated by the Department of Architecture at Tunghai University, the Taiwan Exhibition at the 18th International Architecture Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia Diachronic ‘Apparatuses of Taiwan- Architecture as on-going details within landscape’ was presented at the Palazzo delle Prigion in Italy.

An Undefeatable Quest for Freedom and Beauty: The Life and Art of Huang Tu-Shui presented in Gallery 102.

Presented Erwin Olaf: Perfect Moment–Incomplete World in Gallery 101. This solo exhibition of the prominent Dutch photographer was organized by NTMoFA, curated by the Suwon Museum of Art, Korea, and in collaboration with the Netherlands Office Taipei.

Launched a trial run of the  Art + Play Space at NTMoFA’s Taiwan Children’s Art Cave.

NTMoFA inaugurates the Children’s Art Education Center – Service-Learning Building and also organizes  the inauguration party “Knock Knock, Welcome to the Art World” and “Moonlights-Arts Wonderland Full Moon, Music & Family Reunion in NTMoFA ”.

NTMoFA presents the museum anniversary series, “NTMoFA 33th Anniversary: Keep Moving with Art”, with events including “Open Vote to Name NTMoFA’s New Spaces”, “Trans-disciplinary, Dynamic Art Tour -Live-Stream”, “+1, Art Giveaways”, and others.

NTMoFA presents Taiwan’s Collateral Event at the 17th International Architecture Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia, “Primitive Migration from/to Taiwan”, at Palazzo delle Prigioni in Venice, Italy.

Inauguration ceremony of the museum’s National Center of Photography and Images - Taipei, with the center officially opened to the public on April 20^th.

NTMoFA collaborates for the first time with three other art museums and four universities in Taiwan in organizing the “Master Lecture Series of Distinguished Taiwanese Artists”, with 10 lectures presented.

NTMoFA presents the “2^nd Taiwan International Light Festival” at the museum’s plaza glass screen, outdoor platform on the 2^nd floor; E-Pavilion, lawn in front of the museum, sky bridge, and other outdoor spaces.

Co-organizes with the Krasnoyarsk Museum in Russia the exhibition, Behind the Mask: Rose of Modernity, which is presented at the Krasnoyarsk Museum Center (Ploshchad Mira).

Presents Transformation: 31st Anniversary Celebration of NTMoFA, with a series of events held at the museum’s Auditorium.

Presents the 2019 National Art Exhibition of ROC at the museum’s Galleries 103-107, Galleries 203-205, and Gallery Street.

The Ministry of Culture and the Taichung City Government co-host the press conference, “Homebound – Collection Donation Agreement Signing Between the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts - The Taichung Prefectural Hall and Sun Ten Museum, Irvine, USA”, which is held on the lawn of the Taichung Prefectural Hall.

Lin Chi-Ming becomes the museum’s 8th director. The directorship is transferred over from interim director Chen Chao-Jung and supervised by deputy culture minister Hsiao Tsung-Huang.

Co-presents Flowers of Immense Charm - A Masterpiece Exhibition by Four Major Museums, with the National Palace Museum, Tokyo Fuji Art Museum, CHIMEI Museum, and National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, on display at the museum’s Gallery 101, Gallery 102, Main Lobby, and Multiple Screens.

With the theme, “Collecting the present, a fine life,” the museum participates in the 2015 Creative EXPO Taiwan at Taipei’s Songshan Cultural and Creative Park, exhibiting the museum’s adoption of the values of collecting to promote the outcomes of the authorization of collection usage. The Art Bank also participates, adopting the theme, “Arts, Give Me Fine!.”

The museum takes part in the hallmark service competition in the service and planning organization category of the seventh government prize for service quality, with the theme, “Art Bank creates service projects,” and is honored to proceed beyond the qualifying rounds. The jury, from the National Development Council, attends Art Bank management headquarters to undertake judging.

In collaboration with the United Daily News Group, the museum holds the 「Aesthetique Paris – Marie Laurencin」 exhibition at the Marie Laurencin Museum,Tokyo

The museum submits a report on collection items and provisional-level national treasures and important relics (fine art category) and the Bureau of Cultural Heritage, Ministry of Culture, holds a project team exploratory meeting in the museum’s third floor meeting room
